"Sally" (Serial 42 26393) was a P 47D 25 RA Thunderbolt flown by Capt. Thomas Montag of the 395th Fighter Squadron, 368th Fighter Group, during World War II. While strafing a convoy of German trucks and light armor in Normandy on August 14th, 1944, Sally clipped trees at low altitude and crashed into the forest.
