The bayonet which is also Mortimer marked and dated 1799 is most likely of EIC local Indian production and was marked to match the musket when it was first fitted at the time

The most important marking by far however is what is on the top of the barrel strap:

This is a very nice genuine WWII U. S. Army M4 Carbine bayonet fighting knife, with an original M8A1 scabbard. Nicely marked U. S. M4 IMPERIAL on the blade side of hand guard for the desirable maker, Imperial Knife Co. of Rhode Island. To the left of this is the U. S. Ordnance "Flaming Bomb". The blade is in good condition, showing light runner wear and no sharpening, with nearly all of the original finish still
