This is a very interesting German WWII Luftwaffe (Air Force) machine embroidered breast eagle, as would be fitted onto the combat uniform. It measures approximately 3 3 4" x 1 7 8", and looks to be made from silver gray threading on a Luftwaffe blue gray wool base material. It does however look like it may have been turned into an "ersatz" officer's eagle during the war by adding silver paint to the front, which was
